While they can answer your questions and make recommendations, their perspective is limited to the venue’s logistics and best interests. Often, venue coordinators don’t even speak to your other vendors. 

On the other hand, a wedding planner works entirely in your interest. They manage every vendor, every timeline, and every detail across the entire event, not just what happens within the venue’s walls. You can trust them to advocate for you, ensuring everything aligns with your vision and runs seamlessly.

How far in advance should you hire a wedding planner?

Ideally, as early as possible — ideally before or at the same time as booking your venue. The earlier a planner is involved, the more they can shape the day from the ground up rather than inheriting decisions that have already been made.
